Uncertainty in the time of Covid
On the 23rd of March 2020, South Africa’s first lockdown, level 5 was announced. Almost one year and 4 months ago we settled into our homes to wait out three mandated weeks of lockdown. There was no way for anyone to predict what lay ahead. Since then we have seen cases spike, many losses and a constant shift between levels 1-5 with the rules in each level constantly changing. There has been an economic crisis in South Africa as industries such as the tourism, alcohol, entertainment and restaurant industries have taken a huge blow. People are facing unemployment and it’s safe to say that times are tough!
With no end in sight and so much uncertainty as to what is going to happen next, it’s no surprise that people are starting to struggle with Covid Fatigue. We want to encourage you not to give up! There is still plenty to be thankful for and there are ways for us to manage our stress and continue to live healthy and productive lives.
Covid Fatigue
What is Covid Fatigue? Covid fatigue is caused by stress associated with covid related issues such as employee uncertainty and concerns about your mental and physical health. We are all tired of disruptions to our normal lives and everyone has has to sacrifice in some kind of way. Social isolation has also left many people feeling quite lonely and there has been a toll on our mental, physical and emotional health.
Perhaps you feel like you have reached your limit with Covid and that you are running out of coping mechanisms. We want you to know that you are not alone! We wanted to look at some ways to cope with Covid fatigue to help us all get through this stressful time.
Combatting fatigue
There are a few ways to ease the symptoms of Covid fatigue. We understand that some may need to seek professional help and we encourage you to always put your mental health first. We have found some of these techniques beneficial to helping with Covid fatigue.
Exercise
Exercise is a great way to release stress and helps to release feel-good endorphins.
Although group classes may be prohibited at the moment, we are so lucky that there are so many digital options on offer. There are many affordable online classes that you can sign up for and do from the comfort of your home. Also getting outside for a jog and some fresh air can do wonders for improving your mood. With it being winter in South Africa, outdoor exercise has even been found to help with seasonal affective disorder.
If you find that your exercise routine has increased over this time we suggest protecting yourself with our Nature’s Relief Sports CBD which is designed to assist with sports performance, sports recovery and muscle repair.
Nature’s Relief Cordyceps drops are also excellent for increasing exercise performance. Cordyceps improves blood circulation, lowers blood pressure and promotes good blood flow in the coronary vessels towards the heart.
Meditation
Meditation is a great way to manage stress as it helps to slow down your thoughts and calm your body and mind. With meditation you can find presence in the present moment without thinking about the past or worrying about the future. This is especially beneficial during these times as there is so much uncertainty about the future.
We are seeing an increase in the number of patients seeking assistance for heightened stress and anxiety. Nature’s Relief has developed a CBD to help calm the body and mind. Using Nature’s Relief CBD calm to treat stress is a safe and effective way of managing anxiety around stressful situations.
If you are struggling to slow down your racing thoughts at night time and are struggling to sleep because of it, we suggest Nature’s Relief CBD sleep drops. CBD can assist with sleep issues due to it’s anti-anxiety properties and ability to promote relaxation. Our blend of CBD and lavender terpenes will help you to fall asleep and stay asleep.
